Interventional Cardiologist

Dr. Bahekar is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Nuclear cardiology and Vascular Medicine. His practice include all areas of cardiovascular medicine, including: clinical cardiology, interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular diseases. Dr. Bahekar went to medical school at Grant Medical College, Mumbai, India. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiovascular medicine at Rosalind Franklin/University of Chicago SOM. He completed interventional fellowship at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Bahekar also has a MPH degree from West Virginia University.
He is a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. His clinical interests include invasive cardiology procedures, such as complex coronary interventions, TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement), management of peripheral arterial and venous disease with special interest in critical limb ischemia and limb salvage with an endovascular approach. Dr. Bahekar was the first physician to perform the TAVR procedure at Cape Fear Valley Hospital. Dr. Bahekar has published several peer reviewed scientific articles in reputed journals and presented scientific abstracts at several national conferences.

Dr. Patel is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Nuclear Cardiology. His practices include all areas of cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiology. Dr. Patel attended medical school at Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College Gujarat University in Ahmedabad, India. After completing his residency, he become a staff cardiologist in a few nearby hospitals in India. In the fall of 1996, Dr. Patel opened theFayetteville Heart Center, of which he is the founder and the President. In 2017, Dr. Patel opened Harnett Heart and Vascular Center in Dunn, NC. Dr. Patel is also a staff cardiologist at Cape Fear Valley Hospital and Bladen County Hospital.
Dr. Patel holds many honors over the years. In 2004, he was named Physician of the year for the Cape Fear Valley Health System. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and has exceptional skills both has a clinician and as an interventional cardiologist.

Dr. Lokhande's medical journey is indeed remarkable, having completed his interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Massachusetts - Baystate Medical Center, and gaining experience at renowned institutions like Beth Israel Medical Center (Harvard University) and Cleveland Clinic.
Throughout his eight years of training, Dr. Lokhande excelled as a clinician, proceduralist, researcher, and educator. His exceptional leadership skills were recognized when he served as Chief Resident/Assistant Program Director of the internal medicine residency program at Cleveland Clinic Foundation's Fairview Hospital.
Dr. Lokhande's dedication to cardiovascular disease prevention and healthcare improvement is evident in his patient-centered approach. He emphasizes spending time with patients to ensure they understand their conditions and strongly advocates for lifestyle counseling, screening, and effective medications to prevent unnecessary emergency room visits.
Originally from Mumbai, India, Dr. Lokhande's medical education at K.J. Somaiya Medical College set a strong foundation for his successful career. Apart from medicine, he enjoys being a national level chess player and indulges in hobbies like cooking, traveling, hiking, and cherishing moments with his family.
With board certifications in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, nuclear cardiology, and interventional cardiology, Dr. Lokhande is well trained to handle complex coronary cases. His expertise also extends to mechanical circulatory support devices, advanced imaging modalities, and cardiogenic shock.
As he joins our team, Dr. Lokhande's mission is to provide exceptional and advanced interventional care to cardiac patients in Fayetteville and North Carolina, utilizing cutting-edge techniques and technology. He is also committed to educating and mentoring future leaders in the field, ensuring that his valuable knowledge and expertise are passed on to the next generation of medical professionals. His passion for patient care and commitment to medical education make him an invaluable part of our team.

Dr. Bhandari was a faculty cardiologist at the Bronx Care Health system prior to joining Cape Fear Cardiology Associates.
Besides clinical practice, he has experience instructing medical students, resident physicians, and cardiology fellows and is one of the core faculty for the Cardiology Fellowship.
Dr. Bhandari is also a founding member of the Health Foundation Nepal, a non-profit volunteer organization serving underserved communities in rural Nepal. He currently serves in the leadership group for the organization.
He currently practices as a non-invasive Cardiologist, exceptionally experienced with clinical cardiology, nuclear cardiology, and echocardiography. He serves as director of the Echo Lab, and leads the echocardiography didactics curriculum for the Fellows.

Interventional Cardiologist

Dr. Jyothidasan’s primary specialty is Interventional Cardiology, focusing on coronary interventional procedures, including cardiac catheterization, angiogram, laser atherectomy, balloon angioplasty, and stent implantation. He is trained in treating patients with leg pain from peripheral vascular disease. He is a certified Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.
Dr. Jyothidasan has experience instructing medical students and is one of the core faculty for the Cardiology Fellowship.
